Yes, Sprint and another company intend to install two separate transmitters at the Presbyteriann church near 44th and Judah.
As manny of you know this technology uses microwave radiation that studies are showing to cause serious health effects. There was already one public hearing about this, and there is supposedly going to be a neighborhood meeting for concerned members of the community. I just wanted to let you know this is happening and I wil be sure to contact this tribe when I hear the next meeting time. Let me know if you have any questions,
Are we to let Babylon raise yet another tower amidst the land of barbarian tribes?

No I didn't really knew about this, but I researched a bit and found out this link :
www.osha.gov/SLTC/radiof...n/index.html
I suggest you read it, in fact, let me quote (this is from the World Health Organization):
"Are there health risks associated with living
or working near a base station?"
"The consensus of the international scientific community
is that the power from these mobile phone base station
antennas is far too low to produce health risks as long as
people are kept away from direct contact with the
antennas."
And the link to the article:
www.who.int/peh-emf/publ...lephonebk.pdf
I for one would rather see people discuss and take care of the homeless, the dirty streets and garbage at the beach than a tower that might or might not fry pigeons brains.
Peace

Wed, July 12, 2006 - 8:55 PMI think there's room for discussion for all subjects.
Most of the articles I found were inconclusive - discussing both sides of the coin. For example: www.sixwise.com/newsletter..._towers.htm
My view is, one leads to more... and more... and more electromagnetic radiation can't be good in my eyes.

Regardless of corporate-interest-driven skepticism based upon limited 1990's studies, you may visit this site to sign an online petition against the transmitter slated at 43rd/44th and Judah:
antennafreesunset.org
Like the EPA says: "The FCC's exposure guideline is considered protective of effects arising from a thermal mechanism but not from all possible mechanisms. Therefore, the generalization by many that guidelines protect human beings from harm by any or all mechanisms is not justified."
Quote from: www.protectschools.org/epa%20letter.pdf
You can also visit the following sites for ample research information that contradicts the FCC and WHO's *assumed* safe microwave radiation exposure levels, including works cited from university and other credentialed third party researchers:
protectschools.org
www.wave-guide.org
Many risks of exposure HAVE been been demonstrated. Microwave radiation due to cell towers has the extreme potential to become the next asbestos in our ceiling, lead in our paint, mercury in our fillings, chemicals in our water, pesticides/herbicides/rocket fuel in our food, brake dust in our air, roach killer in our kitchen.
